1. 8. 2007Soudce Thomas Zilly potvrdil, že Evans trefně označil QDOS „vykradeným“ CP/M a dal mu zapravdu, že Paterson zkopíroval aplikační rozhraní CP/M včetně prvních 36 funkcí a způsobu předávání parametrů, přestože něco z toho bylo přejmenováno (třeba to, co se v CP/M jmenovalo „Read Sequential“, se v QDOSu změnilo na „Sequential Read“, stejně tak „Read Random“ přešlo na „Random Read“).

Zaujímavé je, že SW od Microsoftu používa nedokumentovanoé ABI a teda je ho ťažké spustiť bez chýb na inom OS, lebo aplikačný program je, de facto, len súhrnom systémových volaní a o nedokumentovaných volaní nie je známe, čo majú robiť.CP/M bol dominantný OS a bez "kompatibility" s ním by sa MS DOS nikdy nerošíril. Award for Slovak committee that enforces standards compliance

The Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) last month awarded the Slovak Commission for Standardization, part of the Ministry of Finance, for its commitment to open standards. The Ministry can fine public administrations that do not comply with its rules on IT standards.Such fines can vary from 2000 up to 35,000 euro.The FSFE says in a statement that it wants to give international recognition to the commission. The free software advocacy organisation praised both the high quality of the standards set by the body as well as its sanction mechanism.
