>AMD nazvalo rozšíření architektury x86 o 64bitové adresy termínem AMD64, Intel o něco později jednoduše
>Intel 64 This technology went through quite a bit of name changing, as in the Intel Developer Forum (IDF), it was known as CT (possibly standing for Clackamas Technology, although it is uncertain). It was later referred to as the IA-32e and finally in March 2004, it was officially announced as the EM64T. However, in late 2006, Intel began to lessen the use of the name EM64T and began to refer to it as the Intel 64

Mimochodm prave na toto vyroicie AMD pustilo info o ARMAMD reveals G-Series X embedded chips, drops a little ARM-powered bombshell Apr 23rd, 2013 at 12:01 AM The key thing is actually the "X" in the lower right corner of the logo, which signifies that this is an x86 chip of the type we'd normally expect from AMD. The question is this: Why bother even mentioning the "X" when everyone knows AMD is an x86 stalwart already? Read on and we'll explain its true significance. The answer, according to AMD's Arun Iyengar, is that AMD is paving the way for an ARM-designed CPU as part of this embedded series. Whereas the X-branded x86 chips will serve power envelopes of 9W all the way up to 25W, future A-branded versions could bring power consumption right down to less than 3W:
